Steel Specification — Why It Matters
The 4 Numbers That Separate Commercial from Budget Racks
75×75mm Upright profile — commercial standard. Budget racks use 50×50mm or smaller
11GA 3mm wall thickness — significantly stronger than 12–14 gauge budget alternatives
8MM Thick steel base plate reinforcement — eliminates rack lean and frame flex under maximum load
1000KG Static weight rating — tested and rated for elite powerlifting loads
75×75mm uprights vs 50×50mm — the difference you feel at 200kg+:
A 50×50mm upright (used on most budget and mid-range racks) has approximately 40% less cross-sectional steel than a 75×75mm upright at the same wall thickness. Under heavy loading — particularly during dynamic movements like squats where the bar oscillates — 50×50mm frames produce measurable flex and noise. The 75×75×3mm uprights on this commercial power rack stay completely rigid. Combined with the 8mm thick base plate reinforcement and 145kg frame weight, there is zero wobble at any load within the 1000kg rated capacity.

Buying Guide
What Is Westside Hole Spacing and Why Does It Matter?
Standard power racks use 50–75mm hole spacing throughout all uprights — meaning J-hook and safety arm height adjustments jump in 50mm increments. For squats this is fine. For bench press, where the difference between a safe unrack height and a failed rep catch height can be 25mm or less, standard spacing is too coarse. Westside hole spacing reduces the spacing to 25mm increments in the bench press zone — you can fine-tune your J-hook height to the nearest centimetre for perfect unracking position, and set safety arms at exactly the right catch height to protect your chest without limiting range of motion. This is a feature found on premium commercial racks — it is why bench pressers who train seriously specifically request Westside hole spacing when buying a rack.
